Let's Talk About "Baking"...

Baking your contour that is!

The new trend that has been sweeping the tubes of you and the beauty world is "baking your contour"

The rundown
  1.  Apply your contour as normal.
  2. Take a light powder (I use banana powder & disposable makeup wedges) and apply sharply from the top of your ear down to the edge of your mouth right under where your contour shadow should be.
  3. Let the powder sit as you finish your makeup.
  4. take a fluffy face brush and dust off the light powder. You will now see a sharper contour line.

This method is supposed to help with your bronzer falling too far down on your cheek and not creating that streamlined contour look you're trying to achieve. By going over the bottom of your cheek with a light powder, you're erasing any bronzer that may have fallen while also creating a deeper contrast.

My thoughts
It depends on the look you're going for. Sometimes when I do this I think it looks too dramatic. Makeup should look blended and this can have the opposite effect. Especially if you're going for more of an allover bronzed look. This particular time shown in the picture, I thought it worked great. I was also going to a wedding and wanted my makeup to be a little more structured.

Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think!
